Sherwood dies are for use in die stocks to cut external screw threads on metal rod. The split in the die allows the adjusting screws of the diestock to compress or expand the die to accommodate for slight variations in size of the material being threaded or die sharpness. Sherwood dies are available as Metric Fine, Metric Coarse, UNF, UNC, BA, BSF, BSW, BSPT, BSPF, NPT cutting threads. All the dies are manufactured from HSS with precision ground threads to the applicable standard.
