Kitagawa chucks are manufactured from high grade alloy steel. The BL Series chucks have been designed with a lever style mechanism rather than the standard wedge to allow for increased jaw stroke. The increased jaw stroke allows for larger diameters to pass by the jaws then holding on a smaller diameter. This works well for products with stepped diameters or large flanges.
