Stub drills are shorter than standard length jobber length drill bits. A 118 degree split point gives these drill bits a sharp point, resulting in less walking and is ideal for cutting into softer materials like wood. The shorter construction of stub drills performs well on a range of materials, as it gives them maximum rigidity and a longer life. Stub drill bits are mainly used for drilling a variety of hole sizes and for making a hole or a larger blunt tip which is used to enlarge a drilled hole.
